A lost opportunity offered again

The fall of Adam and Eve was a lost opportunity, not a fall from a perfected (completed) state.

And what was that opportunity? The opportunity to prove himself faithful and gain true knowledge of good and evil through faith filled obedience instead of taking it for himself apart from God by using the forbidden tree and seeking to be his own god.

Christ - The perfect (and perfected) God/man - learned obedience through the things he suffered. It wasn't that he was disobedient and became obedient, but he went from untested obedience to tested obedience.

And unlike Adam, who failed the test to not eat from the forbidden tree in the garden, Christ passed multiple tests with flying colors - from his first ¹temptations in the wilderness to his facing and embracing his death sentence in the garden of Gethsemane (Christ's garden, in contrast to Adam and Eves in the garden of Eden) to embracing the cruelist death itself (physically, spiritually, and emotionally) in his crucifixion for us.

The reward for passing His tests? Resurrection and the total defeat of death!! Not only for Himself but for all those who put their total unconditional trust in Him?

Have you trusted Him!?

“... looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God...” - Hebrews 12:2 ESV
