overcoming the allures of this world

We can only be tantalized by the thrills/pleasures of this world to the extent we are not enthralled by God and His infinite love for us. 

If we are easily drawn away from God, it is only because our taste of God is too small and insignificant.               

If we are able to walk away from the allure of this world, it is only because the allure of God is greater. 

                                                                                                

The more we participate in the love and life of God, the less appealing everything else becomes or will be.

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field." Mat 13:44 

Why did he sell all he had to buy the field? He valued the kingdom of heaven where God's love reigns more than he valued earthly treasures.
