What's the love of God like

It's like being homeless and disabled, unable to get work because of your disability. Then a multi-Trillionaire (yes, with a T) who is a philanthropist, finds out about your desperate plight and leaves the comforts of his lavish lifestyle and shows up at your place one day disguised as another homeless person, so you have no clue of his true status. He offers to be your friend. He asks if he can live with you and help out (for three whole years it turns out) in the abandoned, run down building you're living in.

Even though he's homeless himself, with no job apparently, mysteriously and miraculously he always comes up with whatever you guys need whenever you get into a real bind. He even helps your friends living elsewhere in the building, when they too are in a bind. The really weird part is you always find him praying before anybody else gets up.

At first you're put off by all this but over time you get to know him, and get over your distrust of him (I mean who would really do this and not have an ulterior motive, right?!). He gives hints of his real identity but you just don't pick up on it. Finally, after 3 fulls years he directly explains his true identity and that he is independently wealthy. You really listen and hear it for the first time because you have come to trust this guys is for real. He offers to bring you back to live on his own property. Of course you are excited and agree to head out the following day.

The day you plan to leave, your place gets broken into while you're out getting a few things needed for the trip and your wealthy friend is killed by the intruders. Because you had stolen something a while back from a local gang and accidentally killed one of their gang members in the process, they'd had the word out on the streets looking for you for months and finally found out where you lived. When they broke in they found your friend instead of you. Since you weren't there, they killed him to get even and send a warning that your next.

When you return you find your door busted down and your friend badly beaten up, bruised and laying in a pool of blood. You immediately rush out to borrow someones cell phone to call the paramedic. In the mean time you try to revive him for several minutes with no luck. The paramedics finally arrive and try to revive him also but confirm he's gone.

You wind up burying him in a plot offered by someone you hardly know, who meet your friend, since you don't have any money to give him a normal burial and don't know how to reach his dad who you just recently found out is also extremely wealthy.

Totally depressed from the loss, your life again is lonely and miserable. After three days you can't take it anymore so you plan out how you're going to take your own life. Than right before you end it, your dead friend suddenly and mysteriously shows up inside your place, looking better than ever. Seeing your total shock and utter disbelief he encourages you to come over and touch him, especially where the paramedics found a big gash in the back of his head. You do and sure enough, even though there is a scar, it's better than new.

Again he extends the offer to come back to live with him. With great relief and excitement, but a little puzzled, you quickly get what few things you have together and head out.

After a several days of travel by land and than by sea (your friend covered the cost) you finally get to an island and dock. Your mind is blown. You find out he doesn't just live here but owns the whole island. It is this pristine tropical island about the size of Kauai, loaded with all kinds of fruit trees (some you had never even seen before), along with lush gardens, lots of wildlife (some of which you don't recognize), several spring fed ponds that feed into a couple of huge lakes, loaded with fish. There are streams, mountains (one is so high it's completely snow covered), waterfalls and valleys everywhere with plenty of farmland as well. The weather and conditions are perfect. You have never smelled air or tasted water so fresh and invigorating. They seem to infuse new life with every breath and drink.

It also turns out this is just a small part of the total land holdings of he and his father. After being there a couple days he tells you the island is yours to cultivate, enjoy and share with others. Plus you're free to come and go to the other places he and his father own.

It also turns out being in such a pristine environment, all your physical disabilities totally clear up after a few days. In fact you're so completely healed that you never get sick again. Things get increasingly better as time goes on and you actually start to get younger and revert to your prime in your former life but even better. After living there for several years you find out no one dies here, ever. You can't remember ever feeling better, stronger or more alive.

You also find there are others on their own islands nearby and you develop great friendships with all of them and travel back-and-forth freely between the different islands enjoying extended stays, visits and adventures together. You find these new friends have similar stories on how they got there and your mutual love and adoration of your former homeless friend grows even more.

He also visits with you regularly and travels and goes on adventures with you whenever you wish. All you have to do is call him and he's there as soon as you are ready.

He also tells you, you are free to stay here forever. In fact he reveals to you that this was his plan from the first day he showed up at your place.

You are also shocked to find out he'd heard on the streets the gang that broke into your place was going to come looking for you to kill you that day. That's why he sent you out on errands so you would be spared and they would kill him instead. In fact this was the necessary and decided plan between him and his father in order to bring you to this new place. It turns out the condition for living there was you couldn't have any unresolved debts, obligations or offenses of any kind. So he deliberately allowed the consequence of your offense be taken out on him. Plus you could never do well enough to rent even a small place on the island anyway, much less own the whole island.

How did your friend come back to life? Well, let's just say it has to do with the strength and power of the eternal love the Father and Son have for each other. A love that is so strong and powerful it's actually able to somehow generate life itself and also turns out to mysteriously be the source of the life and beauty of this new place you are now living in.

It also turns out he and his Father not only own all these islands but they actually own this world these islands are on. In fact they own an unlimited number of worlds like it, as well as many completely different from it, which you are free to travel to and visit. Each is equally exotic yet unique in their own way.

As you consider all your "homeless" friend has just told you and taking it all in, you both stand there together smiling, your eyes watering up in joy with a huge grin breaking out on your face that would normally hurt but doesn't because there's just no pain in this new place.

This is not

Just the beginning.

"...Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."  And he who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Also he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."

And he said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment." John the Apostle quoting Jesus.  Rev 21:1-6
